This being the first post, I have decided to go with the theme of my current project on Surrealism… Being as Dali is one of the most prestigious surrealist artists i thought I would start with possibly his most famous picture ‘The Persistence of Memory’. Dali often referred to his paintings as ‘hand-painted dream photographs’ which in this painting can be seen as very true. Often in dreams, time is considered to be very relative - and so it is possible for us to experience a dream which may seem like hours when in fact it may only be minutes in reality. From this I have realised that rather than trying to think up of an idea for a ‘Surreal’ image I will possibly explore a meaning/idea that I can work around to build a surreal image.
