While on the idea of the surrealism project, I was thinking over a few ideas and I accidentally stumbled across this image (while looking for films to buy my little brother for christmas). Althought it is not a photograph I realised you dont always have to take inspiration from photographers or artists but almost anything - In this case the cover of the film ‘James and the Giant Peach’. For my surrealist idea I was considering the importance of an apple irrespective of its size and so I want to represent this importance by enlarging its size, scaling it against its surroundings. From this the ’James and the Giant Peach’ image gave me the idea of having someone looking curiously at this large apple… Furthmore after thinking about the film I remembered how james climbs through a hole after seeing a light and so I may add a hole on the apple with a light shining out of it as if from the core…
